A guy who punched and then threatened a Ukiah Police officer has been arrested at the Airport Park Blvd Wal-Mart. UPD officers were doing a security check in the parking lot Monday morning after continued complaints about illegal camping there. They spoke to several people they say were in violation of the City of Ukiah’s camping ordinance. Some of them had to be woken up, one of which was Paul Bittner who after standing up suddenly punched a UPD officer in the face without any type of warning and then while then being arrested allegedly threatened to shoot the officer. A records check revealed that Bittner was on Parole. He is now in custody. The officer was not seriously hurt.
