A guy not licensed for a motorcycle has been arrested after leading Ukiah Police on a chase. Around 1130am Wednesday a patrol officer tried to stop a motorcyclist for speeding on Brush Street, but he kept going and led the officer on a high-speed chase northbound on North State Street. Police say the motorcyclist, now identified as 20-year-old Tristan Mendez, made a lot of dangerous moves including passing vehicles by swerving into oncoming traffic. The chase ended on Lake Mendocino Drive when Mendez tried to make a U-turn and the officer blocked him. The front of the patrol car hit the bike and Mendez fell over and was arrested after being checked out at the hospital. Records show Mendez was not licensed to ride a motorcycle and was on felony probation. He is also charged with felony reckless evading.

The Clearlake Youth Wildlife Art Project is off and running. The students began working this week at the Woodland College Clearlake Campus on some murals that will go throughout the community. The Record Bee reports Stephanie Figueroa and artists from the Art House Gallery are guiding and supervising the student artists through a workshop that will run until July 27. Each student will ultimately create a 4’ x 4’ final project. You can sponsor an art mural for around $200 and then choose the wildlife image you’d like. You can see samples of the student work on the Clearlake Youth Art Project Facebook Page:
