Lake County CHP officers are reportedly still looking for the driver who ran from a crash near Clearlake Riviera on Friday, leaving behind his injured passenger. The wreck happened around 1130pm Friday on Fairview Drive, west of Tenino Way. The CHP says the pickup ran off the road and down the embankment where hit a large rock, flipped and caught on fire. Passenger Charles Wade Rose Jr., of Kelseyville suffered moderate injuries and was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The CHP has not said whether they know the driver’s identity.

A Fort Bragg man has been arrested on charges related to sexually abusing children. Last month Fort Bragg Police got a report from Mendocino County Child Welfare Services with allegations that Jonatan Sastre-Cordova had committed lewd acts with multiple victims under 14. Officers started an investigation while also protecting the children and after conducting several interviews arrested him last week. Ukiah Police Officer Jason Chapman has been presented with the City of Ukiah’s Exceptional Employee Award. At last week’s council meeting, Officer Chapman was recognized for his efforts to remove the impacts of homelessness on the environment within Ukiah. Since last May, Officer Chapman, Public Works Maintenance Lead Darin Malugani, and the Street Crew, have removed more than sixteen tons of debris from city creeks, streams and other locations.
