The Lakeport Fire Department fire chief Doug Hutchinson’s last day is Friday as he begins a new job as fire chief at the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority soon. In his place for now, will be newly selected interim fire chief Rick Bergem, who told the Record Bee that he’d like to help get the house in order as the department works through financial issues. He isn’t expected to stay long, having come out of retirement to take the interim role.
