Two people, found dead in a car that went off the road in Gualala. CHP says the crash on Old Stage Road apparently happened late Saturday night, but that the Mini Cooper with the victims inside wasn’t found until Monday morning. The driver has been identified as 52 year old Dianne Maxwell, while her passenger has been identified as 50 year old Alan Ricoli, both from Gualala. The investigation continues, but police say impairment was NOT a factor.

Ukiah police are investigating an apparent drive by shooting. The Mendocino Voice reports that cops were called to the intersection of Observatory Avenue and Helen Avenue around 9:00 on Monday night after as many as 9 shots were fired from a silver sedan at a passing SUV. Investigators say while they have at least one witness and surveillance video from nearby, they DON’T have any suspects or victims. The investigation is continuing.

A report says PG & E is ready to pay out as much as 13.5 billion dollars to the victims of wildfires that started with the company’s equipment. People close to the situation say it is part of PG & E’s multi billion dollar bankruptcy case. Its not a done deal though, with details of how the settlement will be paid out still up in the air. Word of a possible settlement offer helped PG & E stock rise by as much as 19 percent today.

It’s almost time to lace up the skates and hit the ice. The city of Ukiah starts work on its seasonal ice rink next week in the 300 block of School Street. Ukiah on ice opens for the season on November 30th and will be open every day, including holidays, though January 5th. The city says that part of School Street will be closed when work starts on next Wednesday and remain blocked off until around January 11th, conditions permitting.
