The Arcata Police are searching for the suspect or suspects who have been vandalizing the Downtown area with graffiti since New Year’s Day. Investigators have identified 13 new incidents of graffiti. In the past few months, officials say that the tagging of private, public property including handrails, sidewalks, walls, poles, and signs. Those who are caught could be charged with a misdemeanor or felony, depending upon the total of property damaged.

A Fairfield appliance recycler is being fined for mishandling and burning hazardous waste for years at three Northern California locations. Freon Free will have to pay over one-hundred-and-forty-five-thousand dollars under an agreement with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, according to a news release on Sunday. The company reportedly burned hazardous waste without a permit and didn’t train staff properly.

A 22-year-old man is behind bars after being found with the 13-year-old Fort Bragg girl who vanished from the U-C-S-F Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes in Mission Bay on Friday afternoon. Sienna Carter was located due to the help of folks who had seen her picture circulated on social media and in the news. NBC Bay Area reports that a Mendocino County group called Cold Case Mendocino posted on its website Saturday that its members spoke to a witness who said the girl may have met up with a man when she was in San Francisco. At this time the man’s identity has not been released and officials say that they are declining any further comment at this time.

Humboldt County will be installing several new stop signs at various intersections at this time no time frame has been set as to when they will be installed.
