Don’t put down the French Fries… or maybe rub the grease on your head instead? A new study shows a chemical in the preparation of some fried fast food items could actually cure baldness. Scientists at Yokohama National University say the oxygen-permeable agent dimethylpolysiloxane (die-methyl-poly-sy-locks-ann) or PDMS helped hair follicle germs regenerate, so hair would grow. The study’s been published in the science journal Biomaterials. The same chemical is used to cook Micky-D’s fries, keeping oil from foaming. It’s also apparently used in lubricating substances and skin conditioning cosmetics.
